I, 178 var. 1,50g Rare Petite griffe au droit.

Amalaric était âgé de 5 ans à la mort de son père Alaric II (507). Sa mère était une fille de Théodoric l'Amale, roi des Ostrogoths, qui intervint dans le royaume wisigoth pour écarter du pouvoir l'usurpateur Gesalic, un fils illégitime d'Alaric II, et assurer le trône à son petit-fils. Théodoric gouverna ensuite de fait le royaume wisigoth jusqu'à sa mort (526).
